SILENT STATUS PRIVACY POLICY

Silent Status (the “Company”, “we” or “us”) provides this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information we receive from users the Silent Status (the “App”). This Privacy Policy applies to information that is provided to us through the App. Our Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time, and we will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on the Website at www.silentstatus.com/privacy. This Privacy Policy does not apply to websites, applications or services that display or link to different privacy statements.

YOU ARE HEREBY ADVISED THAT YOUR CONTINUED USE OF THE APP CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE OF THIS PRIVACY POLICY, ANY APPLICABLE CURRENT AND PRIOR VERSIONS, AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO.

  1. Information Collection:

    Personally Identifiable Information that we collect from users through the App.

    In the course of using the App, users may provide us with certain personally identifiable information. This refers to information about users that can be used to contact or identify them, and information on their use of and activities at the App that may be connected with them (“App Personal Information”). App Personal Information that we collect may include, but is not limited to, a user’s name, email address and Apple iOS Unique Device Identifier (UDID). App Personal Information may also include information users supply to us concerning their preferences and interests expressed in the course of use of the App.

    When users use the App, our servers automatically record information that their device provides to us. This information may include, but is not limited to, the user’s device Internet Protocol address, device type and location.

    Users of Silent Status may connect the app to Twitter. In such cases any information shared via Twitter is subject to their Privacy Policy and their Terms of Use.

    How we use App Personal Information

    App Personal Information is or may be used for the following purposes: (i) to provide and improve the App, services, features and content, (ii) to better understand a user’s needs and interests, (iii) to personalize a users’s experience, and (iv) to provide or offer software updates and product announcements.

    We use information we obtain by technical means (such as the automatic recording performed by our servers) for the above purposes and in order to monitor and analyze use of the App and our services, for the App's technical administration, to increase the App's functionality and user-friendliness, to better tailor it to users’ needs, to generate and derive useful data and information concerning the interests, characteristics and app use behavior of our users.

    How we use User Information in Silent Status

    User Information will be stored on our secure services and provided to Developers to help troubleshoot crashes, discover bugs and improve Apps. We will analyze the User Information and provide it to Developers in the form of performance metrics, error reporting and user utilization information. We may also aggregate the User Information for other reporting. We will not sell or expose the User Information to third parties.

  3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

    Regardless of where acquired, the Company does not sell, rent or share App Personal Information or User Information without the user’s consent (as appropriate), except as follows:

    1. Service Providers, Business Partners and Others. We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our services, to provide the Services on our behalf, to perform App or Website-related services (including but not limited to data storage, maintenance services, database management, web analytics, payment processing, and improvement of the Website’s features) or to assist us in analyzing how the App and Services are used. These third parties have access to your App and User Personal Information solely for purposes of performing these tasks on our behalf. We intend to make reasonable efforts to ensure that these third parties execute industry standard confidentiality agreements to protect App and User Personal Information.

    2. Compliance with Laws and Law Enforcement. Silent Status cooperates with government and law enforcement officials and private parties to enforce and comply with the law. We will disclose any User Personal Information to government or law enforcement officials or private parties as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate to respond to claims and legal process (including but not limited to subpoenas), to protect the property and rights of the Company or a third party, to protect the safety of the public or any person, or to prevent or stop any activity we may consider to be, or to pose a risk of being, illegal, unethical, inappropriate or legally actionable.

    3. Right to Reference. Unless you provide express written notice otherwise, the Company shall have the right to reference and refer to the usage of, and relationship with, you or your company, which may be determined by the domain used in your registered email account. No press releases shall be made without your written consent.

    4. Business Transfers. The Company may sell, transfer or otherwise share some or all of its assets, including App and User Personal Information, in connection with or in anticipation of a corporate event, including a merger, acquisition, sale of stock, recapitalization, reorganization or sale of assets or in the event of bankruptcy.

  4. Opting Out of Silent Status

    A User cannot opt out the submission of User Information, except by deleting or uninstalling the App.

  5. Security

    The Company is very concerned with safeguarding and protecting all App Personal Information and User Information. We employ reasonable measures and security designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. These measures include encrypting sensitive information using a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) and storing information behind a firewall. However, the Company cannot ensure, guarantee or warrant the security of all information held, especially against third party attacks or intrusions. Therefore all information provided to the Company is provided at the Developer, Beta Tester or User’s risk.

  6. Transfer of Information

    If you are not a resident of the United States, you understand and agree that the Company stores and processes your information on computers located in the United States, and by providing any data to the Company, you consent to the transfer of such information to the United States and the application of the laws of the United States.

  7. Our Policy Toward Children

    The App is not directed to children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect App Personal Information or User Information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with App Personal Information or User Information without their consent, he or she should contact us at privacy@silentstatus.com. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with App Personal Information or User Information, we will delete such information from our files.
